For years, veterinarians have stopped vaccinating for leptospirosis because vaccine reactions were extremely common. The low risk of disease just didn't justify the risk of post-vaccination adverse reactions. Worse, to be fully effective, lepto vaccines need to be given every six months!
Any dog that regularly goes outside is potentially at risk of contracting this disease. While the leptospirosis vaccine is not currently a required immunization for dogs, it is highly recommended for any dog that commonly goes outside, even just to go to the bathroom in the backyard.

Annual revaccination is recommended for dogs at sustained risk of exposure to the leptospirosis disease-causing organism. Dogs at exceptionally high risk should be vaccinated every six to nine months throughout the period of their continued high risk of exposure.
Texas rabies law requires that all dogs be vaccinated by 4 months of age (which we provide with our puppy packages), and stay vaccinated with either the 1-year or 3-year vaccination.
How often should dogs be vaccinated after their first inoculations? We recommend that dogs receive a 'booster' vaccinations every 12 months.
Leptospirosis vaccines with high protective efficacy and lower side effects are required for human use. In healthy volunteers, IM administration of inactivated vaccines of L. interrogans caused less frequent local reactions than when injected subcutaneously.
Kennel cough vaccine lasts 12 months - so should be repeated every year. Like any vaccine, the kennel cough vaccine doesn't give 100%, guaranteed protection, however, it does significantly reduce the chance that your dog will catch kennel cough and reduces symptoms if they do catch it.

Vaccination Schedule For pups, the initial vaccine is administered at 12 weeks old and repeated two to four weeks later. For older puppies (over four months old) or adults receiving the leptospirosis vaccine for the first time, two doses two to four weeks apart are recommended.
After your pet is vaccinated the first time, it must get a booster shot within 1 year of the date they were vaccinated. After that, your pet must be vaccinated for rabies every 1 to 3 years depending on the type of vaccine your veterinarian uses.
The leptospirosis vaccine is a non-core vaccine, which means it is an optional vaccine that dogs can benefit from based on risk for exposure to the disease. Veterinarians will recommend this vaccine based on a dog's lifestyle and reasonable exposure risk.
Lyme Vaccination Schedule for Dogs The dog is considered to be protected against Lyme disease four weeks after receiving the second Lyme vaccination. For long-term protection, the Lyme vaccine must be repeated once annually for the remainder of your dog's life.
